Use & Care

  1. Place fabric over one sheet of baking paper.
  2. Grate a fine layer of wax over the fabric.
  3. Cover with a second sheet of baking paper.
  4. Turn iron to hottest heat setting (ensure steam is off).
  5. Iron the baking paper / fabric in slow, circular movements.
  6. The wax will melt and spread itself evenly across the fabric.
  7. If required, grate some more wax on thin areas and repeat the process.
  8. Remove fabric from the baking paper and hang it up to dry for a few minutes and you’re good to go!

Top tip: To avoid your wrap cracking, don’t make it too thick.

Full Description

Our DIY Beeswax Bar is handmade with love by Wrappa Reusables using Organic Beeswax from Kangaroo Island. This bar will make approximately 6 x sandwich size wraps. This can vary depending on fabric used, technique and size of wrap. Alternatively, you can use your wax bar to refresh your own food wraps!

Do I need anything else to make my own food wraps?

  • To make your own food wraps you will first need to choose a fabric of your choice.
  • Or get the kids involved to choose their favourite colours or patterns.
  • We recommend a light cotton homespun or calico fabric.
  • You will also need an Iron, Ironing board, (or table) 2 sheets of baking paper, (bigger than your piece of fabric) a clothes line (or something to hang on) and a clothes peg.
Our pre-made Beeswax Wraps are also available in Single Sizes and Value Packs.
